The world is coming to Québec, Canada next year when 6th FINA World Open Water Swimming Championships will be held in lac St-Jean between July 15-23. Lac St-Jean has been site of the richest and most prestigious professional marathon swim for over 50 years and will be a grand host for the fastest 5K, 10K and 25K swimmers on the planet.
A week after the 6th FINA World Open Water Swimming Championships are over, Roberval will be host to the 56th Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean on July 31st. The 32K race is a leg on the FINA OWS Grand Prix circuit where Bulgaria's Petar Stoychev has won an unprecedented nine straight races. His latest victory was nominated as one of the World's Great Open Water Swims of 2009.
