Voxy reported that the New Zealand national open water swimming team going to the 2009 World Swimming Championships in July is inviting the public to watch them train at the Millennium Institute in Mairangi Bay, Auckland this Saturday, June 27th in one of their final training sessions ahead of the world championships.
"Swimming fans and the public can watch them compete at our major championships, but they never get to see them go through a tough training session," said Jan Cameron, SNZ general manager, Performance and Pathways. "This is a great chance to see what goes into making a world class swimmer. They can watch them doing the hard work and can learn a lot from the experience."
Open water swimmer Alannah Jury, her coach Philip Rush and the other swimmers will attend in training session from 8-10 am and then will autograph posters for the public.
