Open Water Swimming Word Of The Day - Expedition Swimming

Expedition swimming (noun): Swimming in natural or man-made bodies of open water including oceans, lakes, rivers, bays and reservoirs, together with teammates or swim buddies, usually as part of a guided tour with or without escorts. The swimmers enjoyed their expedition swim where they encountered many dolphin on their first day. Synonyms: wild swimming, open water swimming, free swimming.

Secret Wild Swimming in the U.K.

Wild Swimming is an educational website that includes a description of Wild Swimming, a book provides an extensively researched unique tour guide of natural swimming holes throughout the U.K.

As described in the Wild Swimming website, wild swimming is swimming in natural waters such as rivers, lakes and waterfalls, plunging in hidden places, sometimes in wilderness areas, jumping or diving from a height using swings and slides, or riding the current of a river.

In other words, activities open water swimmers worldwide know, appreciate and enjoy.
