Double The Fun In Waikiki

The world-famous Waikiki Roughwater Swim is a 2.4-mile swim across Waikiki Bay from the foot of Diamond Head volcano to the luxurious Hilton Hawaiian Village.

The 28th Possibly Annual 7K Hawaiian Christmas Looong Distance Invitational Rough-H2O Swim is double the distance and will be held December 6th this year.

Casually known as the "Double Roughwater", swimmers in the Hawaiian Christmas Looong Distance Invitational Rough-H2O must be registered with the US Masters Swimming. Because the elements along the Hawaiian Islands can be unforgiving, the organizing committee must have a good understanding of the swimmer's ability before an invitation is extended. Applications for entry must be sent to WaikikiJim@aol.com by November 30th.

All swimmers have a manually-powered escort (kayak or paddleboard) as motorized boats are not permitted. With only two turn buoys and a whole lot of ocean in between, an experienced escort is always recommended.
