Extraordinarily special.
A distinguished group of swimmers participated in the RCP Tiburon Mile this week. Kester Edwards coached Andrew Smilley(shown on left, 30:35), Jeffery Peterman (58:45), Hector De Jesus (53:45), Jennifer Fung (50:13), Flor De Maria Mendez (48:37) and Sam Silver (48:32) in San Francisco.
Furthermore, Kester informed us that the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games to be held in Athens will have open water swimming as an exhibition event.
This is very exciting news and we hope to see Jeffery, Hector, Jennifer, Flor and Sam representing their countries in Athens.

Great Pictures! Thanks for the support, Steve. I also think it is pretty special that Andrew Smiley finished 3rd in his age group and 109th overall. Not bad for a guy used to swimming in 70 degree water!
