World Championship Tidbits - Transponders
The athletes in the FINA World Swimming Championships wear two transponders on their wrists. The transponders are provided by Omega and are light, waterproof timing devices with GPS capabilities. In the call room, the officials hand out the transponders one-by-one to the swimmers who are responsible for crossing the finish line with both transponders.
