World Championship Tidbits - Finish Cameras
Because many world-class races are so close, officials use finish cameras. Photo shows one of the cameras used to capture the photo-finish between Melissa Gorman and Larisa Ilchenko at the 2009 World Swimming Championships. Generally, cameras are set up onshore or on docks, piers or other fixed locations to record the finish for official review after a race.
