A new open water swimming race series is starting in the UK this summer: the 3.8K Aqua Sphere Powered Long Swim Series.
Patterned after the original Waikiki Roughwater Swim distance of 3.8K (2.4 miles), the new Series takes place at four locations throughout the UK.
The races include the July 5th race at South Cerney, Gloucestershire, the July 19th race at Box End, Bedfordshire, the August 9th race at Bournemouth, Dorset and the September 6th race at Dorney Lake, Berkshire where and everyone from triathletes to open water swimmers of all levels can enjoy.
Like marathon running in the 1970's and triathlons in the 1990's, the sport of open water swimming continues its explosive global growth as individuals the world over are learning about and enjoying swimming outside the bounds of a pool.
