Brian Meharg of Bangor Boat in Ireland posted a pictorial tribute to those intrepid swimmers who have successfully completed the 21.6-mile (40K) North Channel (Irish Channel) between northern Ireland and southwestern Scotland. Brian asks, "Who would be brave enough to take on the Irish Channel and endeavour to touch shore to shore?"
The following individuals have answered Brian's question: Tom Blower, Kevin Murphy, Ted Keenan, Alison Streeter, Margaret Kidd, Paul Lewis, Steve Price, Colm ONeill and Colleen Blair.
Brian mentions that over 4,000 people climbed Everest, 1,000 people swam the English Channel and 9 swam the Irish Channel.
