Olympic Champion's Racing Strategy

Olympic 10K Marathon Swim gold medalist Maarten van der Weijdenh gave credit to his British competitor, David Davies while explaining his racing philosophy in a recent interview: "The way David chose to swim was very brave – just to go out and swim two hours very fast."

But, Maarten put his unique spin on his own tactics, "My way is much more tactical and I take it slower for the first one and a half hours so perhaps it is harder for him. My way is to really enjoy the race, the tactics, and the swimmers next to me in the game."

Nice information, many thanks to the author. It is incomprehensible to me now, but in general, the usefulness and significance is overwhelming. Thanks again and good luck!
