No Way, No How. Not Me, Not Now

Michael Phelps commented earlier this year that there was "Not a chance. No way. I won't do open water" when asked about marathon swimming by a Wall Street Journal reporter.

Similarly, double gold medalist Rebecca Adlington of Britain told Shelley Taylor-Smith (both shown on left), "No way am I doing the 10k - you guys are crazy!!!" when asked what about her options after she retires from pool swimming. Adlington broke the longest standing swimming world record, held by Janet Evans, in the 800-meter freestyle in Beijing.

But...opinions can change over time.
