As the Olympics gets underway, several Olympic 10K Marathon swimmers represented their countries in the pool:
Spyridon Gianniotis of Greece did a 3:49.34 in the men's 400 freestyle. Spyridon was off his best time of 3:38.77 which got him 7th at the 2004 Olympics, but his time of 3:49.34 was only good for 24th in Beijing.
Keri-Anne Payne of the U.K. did a 4:38.69 in the women's 400 individual medley, just off her best time of 4:38.3.
