Bamberg Sportsman of the Year

We are happy to report that Christian Hübner won his town's Sportsman of the Year award for the earliest England-to-France channel crossing in history with a 17 hour and 16 minutes swim in ~15°C (59°F) water. Christian is from Bamberg, a town in Bavaria, Germany.

It is always nice when a member of our global open water swimming community is recognized for their exploits.

A Bamberg Sportsman of the Year

In 2008, Michael Phelps and Natalie du Toit were selected as America's and South Africa's Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year.

Because of the earliest England-to-France channel crossing in history in 17 hours and 16 minutes in ~59°F water, Christian Hübner. was nominated for his hometown's Sportsman of the Year award - Bamberg, a town in Bavaria, Germany.
