Germany's Thomas Lurz and Great Britain's Keri-Anne Payne won Swimming World Magazine's 2009 Open Water Swimmers of the Year awards. While their performances warranted such honors, it was good to hear that Thomas finished among the top 10 vote-getters in Swimming World's World Swimmers of the Year contest, while other open water swimmers picked up spots in the top five for their regions.

Open Water Swimmers Moving Up The Ranks
Germany's Thomas Lurz and Great Britain's Keri-Anne Payne won Swimming World Magazine's 2009 Open Water Swimmers of the Year awards. While their performances warranted such honors, it was good to hear that Thomas finished among the top 10 vote-getters in Swimming World's World Swimmers of the Year contest, while other open water swimmers picked up spots in the top five for their regions.
