FINA announced its final rankings of the 2009 FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix season.
Congratulations goes to Camilla Frediani who edged out Pilar Geijo of Argentina for her first FINA Grand Prix title to collect the US$15,000 first prize.
According to FINA's rules that require ranked swimmers to participate in a minimum of four races including the final event of the season, the top 6 women were:
1. Camilla Frediani (ITA) - 98 points (US$15,000)
2. Pilar Geijo (ARG) - 91 (US$10,000)
3. Britta Kamrau (GER) - 69 (US$5,000)
4. Anna Uvarova (RUS) - 67 (US$4,000)
5. Marianela Mendoza (ARG) - 58 (US$3,000)
6. Esther Nunez (ESP) - 51 (US$2,000)
A total of 37 swimmers participated in the 2009 circuit, including the following swimmers who did not meeting the minimum participation rule:
