The annual Midmar Mile unveiled its new logo for its 2010 race scheduled for February 13-14th, 2010. Last year, nearly 19,000 people entered, including 13 Olympians. But the 2010 race is aiming to reach and exceed the magical 20,000-swimmer mark in its 37th year. Last month, the Guinness Book of Records officially recognized the Midmar Mile as the world’s largest open water swimming event with 13,755 official finishers.
The Midmar Mile was nominated as the Great Open Water Swim of 2009.
