The men's 10K start list (48 individuals total) was announced by FINA for the 2009 World Swimming Championships for the 1:00 pm start (Rome time) in Ostia Beach.
All of the 5K medalists - Thomas Lurz of Germany (gold), Spyridon Gianniotis of Greece (silver) and Chad Ho (Bronze) of South Africa - are entered after a brief 24-hour rest period.
