Courtesy of WOWSA, Huntington Beach, California. The Vansbrosimningen weekend began today with over 9,700 swimmers entered into Scandavania's largest open water swim. The 1.5 km Vansbro Halvsim and the 1.5 km Vansbro Ungdomssim are held today followed by tomorrow's 1 km Vansbro Kortsim and the 1 km Vansbro Tjejsim and Sunday's 3 km Vansbrosimningen.
The history of the Vansbrosimningen started in 1950 with 10 swimmers and it has been growing ever since. Yesterday, the water temperature was reportedly 18.6°C.
