Italy Wins Open Water Team Title In Rome

Italy won the overall team title at the World Championships in Rome, once again sitting on top of the open water world.

Italy upset traditional open water swimming powers of Russia and Germany and the traditional pool swimming powers of USA and Australia.

The team results are as follows:

1. Italy - 84 points
2. Russia - 82.5 points
3. Germany - 69 points
4. USA - 57 points
5. Australia - 50 points
6. Spain - 43.5 points
7. France - 36 points
8. Greece - 28 points
9. Belgium - 23 points
10. Brazil - 20 points
11. Venezuela - 18 points
11. Great Britain - 18 points
13. Netherlands - 16 points
14. Czech Republic - 14 points
14. South Africa - 14 points
16. Chile - 8 points
17. Canada - 4 points
17. Egypt - 4 points
19. Ukraine - 3 points
20. Mexico - 2 points
