The only father-and-son team to be inducted in the International Swimming Hall of Fame, Ted and Jon Erikson, are now bringing their generation into the open water swimming arena.
Ted (81) and Jon (54) will swim from Asia to Europe together with Blake (17), Ted's grandson and Jon's son, in the annual Turkish Olympiad Bosporous Swim on July 19th.
While swimming the Bosporous will be the fourth time for Ted, it took a far-sighted invitation from Mr. Sahin, CEO of Istanbul's Haci Bekir, the legendary confectionary maker of Turkey, to bring this three-generational swim together.
Ted, Jon and Blake will have their base of operations on Büyükada Island, part of the Princes Islands where they will train in the Sea of Marmara that connects the Black Sea to the Aegean Sea, thus separating Asia and Europe.
