Protecting Open Water Swimming Venues

Like many open water swimming events from Asia to Europe, the annual Swim and Fin Race for Salem Sound Open Water Swim raises money to protect the environment. Besides raising money for the Salem Sound Coastwatch, the event attracts swimmers of all ages and abilities.

The nonprofit Salem Sound Coastwatch has a Clean Beaches and Streams program, a salt marsh restoration program, a Coastal Habitat Invasives Monitoring program and other volunteer activities to help maintain or improve the waterways along the Massachusetts coastline.
