Tour of Europe by Salvatore Cimmino

Salvatore Cimmino, a 45-year-old disabled swimmer from Rome, recently finished the first stage of his Tour of Europe by swimming from Sicily to Calabria in southern Italy.

Salvatore gallantly swims under his motto, "for a world without barriers and without boundary."

An amputee, Salvatore faced a sea of jellyfish as he finished the 12.5K swim in 3 hours and 5 minutes, taking advantage of the favorable currents with a constant 75-80 stroke-per-minute pace.

Salvatore's next stage of his Tour of Europe will be across the Strait of Gibraltar sometime between May 22-30.

We celebrate Salvatore's spirit, courage and determination and wish him the best of luck on the remainder of his Tour of Europe.
