Olympic 10K Marathon Swim gold medalist Maarten van der Weijden will swim alongside open water swimming newcomers in the Great Big Open Water Swim at Dorney Lake on July 11th in the UK.
Dean Jackson, blueseventy's Global Marketing Director said, "Maarten is a tremendous ambassador for blueseventy and for the sport. His presence at the Great Big Open Water Swim will bring a touch of class to what promises to be a superb event. We hope as many people as possible will come and swim and meet this inspirational athlete."
Great Big Open Water Swim will be held at Dorney Lake, Eton, the rowing venue for the 2012 Olympics with three distances: 1K, 1 mile and 3K.
1,000 swimmers are expected to take part in the first-year event.
