The Philippine Business for Social Progress will host the 6K Olango Challenge on April 18th. More than 80 swimmers from all over the Philippines are expected to participate in the 6K swim along the coast from the Pacific Cebu Resort to the beachfront of Tambuli Beach Club.
The event is held annually to raise funds for the children of Olango, to emphasize the importance of a clean marine environment and to raise awareness about preventable drowning incidence and promote open water swimming as a sport Filipino swimmers should excel. The proceeds of this year's event will fund the construction of a classroom at Candagsao Elementary School.
Cash prizes to be given are P15,000 (US$315) cash for first, P10,000 (US$210) for second and P5,000 (US$105) for third.
