Brian Ryckeman will be the only open water swimming representative of Belgium at the 2009 World Swimming Championships in Rome. Brian is shown in middle in the photo on left taken at the start of the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim.
Brian will swim the 10K and the 25K in Rome. Brian was selected because he finished in the Top 3 in the FINA World Cup (accomplished in 2006), the Top 8 in the World Championships (accomplished in 2007) or the Top 8 at the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim (accomplished in Beijing when he placed 7th - shown on left). Brian has always given it his all...from start to finish.
