The 17th annual Polar Plunge benefitted the Special Olympics Virginia and raised more than US$853,000 at last count. 3,270 participants took part in the 2009 Polar Plunge this month at Virginia Beach. Below is a local television report on the marvelous event:

On the other side of America, Olympic 10K Marathon Swimmer Chloe Sutton will be one of the hosts of this weekend's Zuma Polar Plunge benefitting the Southern California Special Olympics. Being so close to Hollywood, stars and celebrities are expected to come out and join Chloe in the festivities.
