The convergence between pool and open water swimming continues. Clovis Swim Club will host the 2009 US Masters Swimming National Short Course Championship on May 7-10 in central California. Together with the Pacific Masters, the Clovis Swim Club will also hold the US Masters 1-mile Open Water National Championship on Monday, May 11 in Millerton Lake north of the city of Fresno.
Millerton Lake was the site of the 2001 USA Swimming 5K Open Water National Championship, only 15 minutes from site of the pool swimming venue.We acknowledge the visionary leadership of US Masters Swimming that is institutionalizing the convergence of national championship pool and open water swimming events.
