Another Pro Race Hit by Hard Times

In addition to the New Zealand FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup race, the Singapore stop has also reportedly pulled out for next year due to the global economic downturn.

The Singapore stop on the FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup circuit was an outstanding blend of a top pro competition with opportunities for amateurs from age-group to masters swimmers to join in the open water swimming festivities. Superstars like Larisa Ilchenko would work with the local swimmers and there was always great fanfare at the event.

But similar to our hopes for Swimming New Zealand's plans, we expect to see Singapore recover and look forward to the festive race joining on the pro circuit soon.
