Speaking of green (see post below), the 3K Emerald Challenge swim was postponed due to the unsuitable water quality in the Vaal River, approximately 45 minutes from Johannesburg. An official seeding event for the 2009 Midmar Mile, the Emerald Challenge, was scheduled for November 30. CEO Martin Rice said the comfort and safety of competitors and visitors to the Emerald Casino Resort was of paramount importance.
Regrettable, but a very responsible move applauded by this writer.
