The Highland Lakes Challenge, a 5-day open water swimming stage race in Austin, Texas got underway today.
Collis Williams leads after Stage One on Day One. Stage One consisted of a 4.4-mile swim in Lake Buchanan in the beautiful Highland Lakes. Collis finished in a time of 1:50:17.
Thursday’s race on Day Two will be held at Inks Lake - see course map here.
Highland Lakes Challenge consists of various levels for all levels of swimmers:
Highland Lakes MONSTER Challenge: 2-4 mile swims in five lakes on five consecutive days.
Highland Lakes MINI Challenge: 1/2 to 1 mile swims in five lakes on five consecutive days.
Highland Lakes WEEKEND WARRIOR Monster Challenge: 2-3 mile swims in three lakes on three consecutive weekend days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
Highland Lakes WEEKEND WARRIOR Mini Challenge: 1/2 to 1 mile swims in three lakes on three consecutive weekend days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
INDIVIDUAL STAGE RACES: Any of the stages of the Monster Challenge or the Mini Challenge may be entered as a single day entry.
