36 men and 20 women, representing 45 countries, will take part in the 5K and 10K open water swims on Sanur Beach along the southeastern coast of Bali in Indonesia on October 25th and 26th.
Some of the individuals most responsible for the inclusion of the marathon swim in the Olympics will oversee the 5K and 10K races in Bali.
Dennis Miller will serve as the FINA Delegate along with Chris and Sue Guesdon, Shelley Taylor-Smith, Bill and Karen Ford and Melissa Cunningham who will help the local officials put on a good show for the first-year event.
In addition to the 5K and 10K marathon swims, the Asian Beach Games will include beach soccer, beach sepak takraw, beach handball, bodybuilding, windsurfing, triathlon, dragon boat, sailing, paragliding, surfing, windsurfing, woodball and beach volleyball.
