
In 1976, the popular
Faros 16K Marathon Swim in
Stari Grad Bay in Croatia was started by Vicko Soljan. This weekend on August 30th,
Dale Petranech, Chairman of the
International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame, will observe the 2008
Faros 16K Marathon Swim. The local populace, the beauty of the race course and the surrounding area have annually welcomed over 925 swimmers from 36 different countries over the 31-year history of this wonderful race.
