During today's random selection of starting positions, Chloe Sutton was given position #19. Chloe is sandwiched between one of the world's most experienced female open water swimmers, Angela Maurer of Germany, and her Brazilian rival, Poliana Okimoto.
The first buoy with a sharp 90ยบ turn is less than 150 meters from the starting pontoon, so it should be a very exciting, physical first 200 meters.
Watch the women's race on USA Network which is planning to televise 3 seven-minutes portions, including the very important last lap. The race starts at 9 pm ET on Tuesday, August 19th.
The entire race can be seen online at NBC Olympics. The live webcast will provide play-by-play analysis and live commentary and will be archived for later viewing.
