America's Olympic open water hopefuls, Chloe Sutton and Mark Warkentin took a short break from their pre-Olympic training camp in Stanford and jumped in Steven's Creek Reservoir for the annual Catfish Open Water Swim in Cupertino, California.
Warkentin won the 1.2-mile swim with Sutton in second. Sutton, enjoying the warm, clear water, decided to continue swimming and jumped into the 2.4-mile swim, winning in 44 minutes 43 seconds. All in all, a nice tune-up swim for the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim in the midst of heavy pool training with their pool teammates.
800+ other swimmers also enjoyed the races in one of California's best and most scenic reservoirs.
Final results can be found at Catfish Open Water Swim Results.
