After winner Petar Stoychev of Bulgaria and third-place Stephane Gomez of France got into a post-race argument after the FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix in Ohrid Lake, Macedonia on July 7th, FINA investigated the situation that got playing time on YouTube (see below).
In accordance with FINA Rule C 12.2, FINA executives imposed a sanction with a warning to both Stoychev and Gomez. The decision is subject to appeal in accordance with FINA Rule C 12.9.1.
