Lasting Images from Beijing - Part 13

I could not have enjoyed the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim qualification race in Beijing without the help of the enthusiastic, energetic, positive volunteer translators dressed in orange shirts. These young, accomplished, ambitious bilingual college students were recruited and trained by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.

The volunteer translators were stationed throughout the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park with specific responsibilities and friendly smiles. Eager to meet foreigners and eager to answer questions, they were generous with their time and most helpful during my visit.

I encourage lost or confused visitors to the Olympics to seek their help during your visit to Beijing.
