Don't Take Boston Lightly

Courtesy of WOWSA, Huntington Beach, California.

Last week, swimmers from five states braved the cold waters of the 8-mile Boston Light Swim, the oldest swim in America, a tradition since 1907. Sebastian Neumayer of Cambridge, Massachusetts defended his title, winning the race in 2:57.37 followed by Andrew McMorrow in 3:19.46 and Jessica Stokes in 3:21.11.

Despite the colder-than-expected waters, even those who did not finish are headed back to Boston. Kimberly Plewa said, "Unfortunately, I didn't finish - it was just too cold for me! Safety first. [But] I will have many more years of these swims [in the future]."
