Swimming Fast In Rio For Rome

Three South American Olympic 10K marathon swimmers demonstrated they are getting ready for the 2009 World Swimming Championships in Rome by swimming well at the Maria Lenk Trophy meet held in Rio de Janeiro.

Kristel Köbrich from Chile (a DNF in Beijing) broke the South American 1500-meter freestyle record last week in a 16:11.40. Poliana Okimoto (7th in Beijing) was second in 16:35.62 and Ana Marcela Cunha (5th in Beijing) took third in 16:56.76.
