Swimming from Asia to Europe

We have written about the international swim between Europe and Asia before. For more information about the Bosphorus Swim in English, go here.

Bosphorus, known as the Istanbul Strait, connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara. Bosphorus is the world’s most narrow strait used for international navigation … and site of the annual Bosphorus Swim in July.

The National Olympic Committee of Turkey organizes the Bosphorus Swim under the motto of 'Sports is necessary for everyone'. The swim will be held on July 19 this year.

The race was started in 1989 with 68 swimmers and has recently grown to 4,892 swimmers coming from dozens of countries.
