Open Water Taking Off In Portugal

aqualoja's Vitor Cunha created a video from the Portuguese Team 5K and 10K national championships.

Soraia Ribeiro, Hugo Ribeiro and Fábio Pereira of Clube Fluvial Vilacondense took the 3-person 5K Team Trial championship in a race format where the final time is counted when the last swimmer finishes.

The 10K race was won by Olympic 10K swimmer Arseniy Lavrentiev (shown on left) in a close finish with second place Daniel Viegas and third-place Diogo Pinto a close 3rd. Daniela Pinto comfortably took the female 10K crown over Lara Pinheiro and Marta Saraiva.

Gustavo Santa won the 5K over teammate Paulo Janeiro with Miguel Diogo 4 seconds behind. Joana Santos finished first over second-place Luisa Abreu and Gustavo's sister Joana Santa in third.

The Portuguese Open Water Swimming Circuit continues to develop and create unique open water swimming opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities.
